The
three story Palace at Sayil once contained 94 rooms. Its wide stairway takes
you to the second level where you can explore several rooms. The front facade
contains two carvings found at other sites throughout the Yucatán, one,
a Chac mask, the other, a "diving" god. The site is large and spread out with
many buildings containing many rooms. Bring your flashlight.
