You sit there, in this courtyard, and imagine stepping through the porthole into another world. Pictures don't do it justice. This archway, this porthole, was once the center of the universe to the people who lived here. The shades, tones, and textures can only be experienced there. As you walk through it, you hear the echoes of all who passed before. It's magical.

The arch brings you there but the entire place is colorful, quite different when compared to gray stone found elsewhere in the Maya world. The Palace is large with many rooms. A raised sacbé connects the palace with the arch/pyramid complex. Walk upon it as royalty once did.
